Roger and Dave,
Hello from an over air-conditioned office in Louisiana. I liked your discussion of MOOCs.
I do know of a few (more practically-oriented) platforms that allow experts to teach classes in their fields.
The sites are geared towards things like “CSS/HTML” and “How to Make Real Italian Meatballs” — but you might be able to use them to teach things like “How to Analyze a Movie” or “How to Read a Poem”.
